Examples are taking a little longer. You can still explore this prompt in the gallery.
A few starting points
Drawing ideas to try
Pick a prompt and explore its gallery. Keep it simple or take it somewhere strange.
Less staring. More sketching.
What should I draw?
Start with a shape
A sleeping cat can start as a circle with ears. You don’t need the whole drawing figured out before the first line.
Borrow an idea, not a drawing
Look at how players tackled the prompt. Try a different pose, expression or setting in your own version.
Give yourself a tiny rule
Try one minute, three colours or a single continuous line. A small constraint can make a familiar subject interesting again.
A little more about the prompts
How does this drawing prompt generator work?
Choose a category or leave it on Surprise me, then shuffle for a random idea from the Artbitrator prompt collection. You can copy the prompt, add a drawing challenge and explore drawings other players made from the same idea.
Can I use these prompts on paper?
Yes. Use a pencil, a sketchbook, a tablet or your favourite drawing app. You do not need an Artbitrator account to use this generator.
What if I want an easy drawing idea?
Start with one subject, such as a sleeping cat or a happy face. Draw its biggest shapes first and leave out the background. You can make any idea simpler by concentrating on just one recognisable detail.
Are the example drawings made by AI?
No. These are drawings made by Artbitrator players. The game uses AI to respond to drawings, but the pictures in the gallery are player-made. Each example credits its creator.
Can I play this exact prompt in Artbitrator?
This generator is for finding drawing ideas. Opening the game does not load the selected prompt. Artbitrator game modes supply their own prompts. To use this exact idea with friends, copy it and draw together on paper or in your own drawing app.
Drawings belong to their respective creators and are displayed by Artbitrator under licence. Please don’t republish, sell or reuse someone else’s artwork without the copyright holder’s permission, except where permitted by law. See our Terms of Service for gallery usage rules.
