An image representing a phrase is hidden behind nine squares. Correct trivia answers earn reveals, so you gradually see more of the picture.
Buzz when the phrase clicks
Spot an idiom or a familiar saying? Buzz in with your answer. An incorrect guess locks you out of guessing that phrase, so decide whether to risk it or wait for another clue.
Finish with the quickfire round
The finale reveals squares automatically. Race to recognise each phrase before the countdown ends, without the trivia between reveals.

Get everyone ready
Bring 2–5 players, each with a browser, an internet connection and an Artbitrator account. Choose Ketchphrase from the game menu and get everyone into the same room before starting.
Give the first round some breathing room
Let everyone find the trivia answers and buzzer controls. If you are on a voice call, headphones can help stop the host’s audio feeding back through your microphone.

What is Ketchphrase?
Ketchphrase is an online multiplayer picture guessing game from Artbitrator. You answer trivia to uncover an image, work out the phrase it represents, and buzz in to guess. It is inspired by the picture puzzles of the UK show Catchphrase.
Is Ketchphrase free, and do we need accounts?
Ketchphrase is free to play. Each player needs an Artbitrator account and signs in before joining. It runs in the browser, with no game download required.
How many people can play?
Ketchphrase supports 2–5 players per game. Each person joins the room on their own device so they can answer questions and buzz in.
Do I have to draw anything?
No. You work out a phrase from an existing picture. Artbitrator also has drawing modes, but Ketchphrase is about looking, guessing and buzzing in.
What happens if I guess wrong?
An incorrect buzzer guess locks you out of guessing that phrase. You can try again when the next phrase begins. Waiting for more of the picture can help, but another player may get there first.
How does the quickfire round work?
In the finale, squares reveal automatically instead of being earned through trivia. Players race to buzz in with the phrase before the countdown ends.
Is this the official Catchphrase TV game?
No. Ketchphrase is an independent game made by Artbitrator. It takes inspiration from picture-based phrase guessing and adds trivia, AI-generated images, an AI voice host and online multiplayer.
