  1. 01

    One person gets the word

Pass them the device. They tap reveal while everyone else looks away.

  2. 02

    Draw. Guess. Repeat wildly.

Start the minute and draw on paper or in your own drawing app. Try a round without letters or spoken clues.

  3. 03

    Swap the drawer

A correct guess earns a point if you’re keeping score. Pick another word and give someone else the pencil.

Before someone asks

A few quick answers

Is this Pictionary word generator free?

Yes. Generate words, use the timer, copy a list or print it without signing up. You can play with paper and pencils or your own drawing app.

How do we use the words for a game?

Let only the drawer see the word. Start the timer, which hides the answer, and draw while everyone else guesses. When the minute ends, reveal the answer if needed and swap the drawer. For teams, you can give one point for a correct guess.

Which words should I choose for kids?

Start with Easy and a familiar category such as animals or food. Read the word aloud privately if needed, allow a skip, and give beginners more time. These difficulty levels are suggestions for choosing words, not age ratings.

Can I print or copy a Pictionary word list?

Yes. Open the word list below the tool. It follows your difficulty and category choices. Copy it as plain text or use Print word cards to print and cut out your selected words.

Will I get the same word twice?

The generator works through every word in your selected deck before repeating. It remembers each deck while you keep this page open. Refreshing the page starts a new session.

Does this start a multiplayer game?

This page supplies words and a timer for your own drawing-and-guessing game. Artbitrator is a separate online game where everyone draws and an AI guesses. Opening Artbitrator does not load the word selected here.

Want everyone drawing at once?

Meet the other kind
of drawing night.

In Artbitrator, everyone has a canvas and the AI does the guessing. Try a few rounds together and see whose sketch it recognises.

Play Artbitrator

Free play available. Each player needs an account. The game supplies its own prompts.
